A Canadian singer and song-writer, designer and actress Avril Ramona Lavigne was born on September 27, 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Lavigne’s parents were strictly religious and made some imprints on her singing in a church choir. Avril has an elder brother Matthew and a younger sister Michelle.
At the age of 5 her family moved to Napanee where she became a local star participating in all festivals and fairs. A talented girl began to write songs having hardly become a teenage. She was fond of country music and the first works of a young artist were performed in this style. Lavigne was noticed by a Canadian folk singer Steve Mad who was attentively watching her progress for some time. In 1998 Avril won in a competition the opportunity to perform a song with a country performer Shania Twain. The repertoire of “Under my skin” ranged from nice pop-punk melodies to alternative rock music with the elements of goth rock. She touched more serious subjects in her creativity such as sexual relationship before marriage in “Don't Tell Me”, the death of close people in “Slipped Away” and depression in “Nobody's Home”. In the whole the singer grew not only as an artist but also as a personality. It may be resulted from the love attending Avril. In 2004 she was engaged in a lead singer from a Canadian band “Sum 41” Deryck Whibley. They married in July 2006. Her husband was one of the producers of her album “The Best Damn Thing”. Being married for 3 years, they divorced in November 2009. Now she has a boyfriend - “The Hills” playboy Brody Jenner. In 2008 Avril made her own line of clothes called “Abbey Dawn”.
