Bon Jovi
This band that practices commercial hard-rock was founded by John Bon Jovi. He started practice music since 13 and after school started to spend a lot of time at studio "Power Station" that was owned by his cousin Tony. John made several demos at this studio and forwarded them to different record companies. One of the songs "Runaway" got rotation on the radio. While the song was in the air John tried to make a band. So John was accompanied by Richie Sambora , keyboard player David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres a bass guitar player Alec John Such. In summer 1983 the guys made a contract with "PolyGram" and soon participated in the concerts of "ZZ Top" in "Madison Square Garden".
The number of copies of the debut album reached the golden rate very fast and at the meantime the band had plenty of tours in America and Europe playing on the same stage with "Scorpions", "Whitesnake" and "Kiss". The second work appeared to be not so successful and raised a lott of negative emotions from critics. In particular, the magazine "Kerrang!" (that approved the debut album of the band) called "7800 Degrees Fahrenheit" a weak copy of what should be true “Bon Jovi”.
The musicians made implications and to play “Fahrenheit” songs and for making the third album invited a songwriter Desmond Child. It had positive effect for the band since such transatlantic blockbusters as "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Livin' On A Prayer" provided "Slippery When Wet" multiplatinum rates. At the end of album promotion tour the band moved to the studio straight away in order to prove that they are not one day stars. They had success again and "New Jersey" proved their commercial success and their five other singles ("Bad Medicine", "I'll Be There for You", "Born to Be My Baby", "Lay Your Hands on Me, "Living in Sin") were within hot 10. The next tour appeared to be tough and relations between John and Richie got worse.
In the result “Bon Jovi” activity was stopped and band memebers started their own solo projects. The group had a comeback in 1992 with the album "Keep The Faith". under co- production of Bob Rock. Despite new grunge wave the work was accepted rather positively. The CD got more popularity in Europe and other regions.
In 1994 collection "Cross Road" was released that included a couple of new songs one of them is "Always" became a great hit. In the same year there was a change in the group Such’s place was taken by Hugh McDonald.
After throwing one more platinum album "These Days" John and Co made a significant break. Studio album "Crush" released in 2000 hit the national Top 10 and took the top of the British hit list. The main reason of this success is super hit “It's My Life". Bon Jovi continued having large stadiums and one concert CD was in sale «One Wild Night".
One year later the band released a longplay “Bounce”. Its popularity was lower in comparison to the previous one; however, the CD had a couple of rather good songs. The group tried to improve the situation with the help a hit collection CD "This Left Feels Right" and box-set with the previously not introduced material. "100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong" but the sales were rather moderate.
The true Bon Jovi recovery was with the album "Have a Nice Day" that was on the top of the world different hit lists. In the USA the CD had the second position but the 10th studio album "Lost Highway" was on the top of "Billboard".
