In 1971 Bowie recorded the album called "Hunky Dory". After the release of the album David started work on his most famous image of bi-sexual rock star from other planet ( album "The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust") made Bowie an international star.
For some time David called himself Ziggy Stardust and his musicians became “spiders from Mars”. The album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggi Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" became a sensation in America at the end of 1972 and theatre show was a loud event. "Ziggy Stardust" was a hit in America and "Space Oddity" was in the American top 20.
After record of the cover version for the album "Pin-Ups" in Spiders from Mars he suddenly announced about the band’s fell apart. Bowie disappeared and starts musical adaptation of the novel by George Orwell “1984” but due to the fact that he was rejected to use the novel he transformed the work in the album "Diamond Dogs".
"Young Americans" was released in 1975 and is considered to the top of Bowie’s interest in soul music. The album was a hit and entered American Top 10.
The hit “Fame” that David wrote together with John Lennon and Alormar was N1 in America. Bowie moved to Los Angeles and got his first role in the movie “The Man Who Fell to Earth”
In 1977 Bowie released not only two albums but jelped Iggy Pop to make a record of "The Idiot" and "Lust for Life" and even had anonymous participation a keys player.
In 1979 together with Ino Bowie recorded «Lodger" in New York. In 1980 album "Scary Monsters" was released. Videos fo the singles from the album were made "DJ", "Fashion" and "Ashes to Ashes".
"Scary Monsters" was the last album recorded for RCA and the same time was a culmination of the most fruitful period of Bowie.
Bowie came back to the solo career in 1993 with "Black Tie White Noise". The album was positive from the critics. In 1995 Bowie once again works with Brayan Ino on the industrial album "Outside" and makes a tour together with Nine Inch Nails.
Bowie returned back to the studio in 1996 and recorded "Earthling". It was an album in drum-n-bass style. More traditional "Hours" was released in 1999.
Of course David Bowie is not famous as an actor but more as a rock singer and music player. However his acting career is rather prominent. He emerged on Broadway stage in the role of Merrick in “The elephant Man” (1981), his first movie role was in famous film “The man who Fell To Earth” (1976).
His acting fame increased after the film “Hunger” (1983) and successive work on the film “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” (1983). Also he played in such movies as “Labyrinth” and “Twin Peaks” (1992) and the role of (Ponty Pilat in the movie of Martin Scorsese “The Last Temptation of Christ” (1988).
