Lily Rose Beatrice Allen is a famous English singer performing different genres – pop, ska, grime. She was born in London, England on May 2, 1985 to famous comic actor and musician Keith Allen and producer Alison Owen. Her god father was guitarist from the band “Clash”, Joe Strummer. At the age of four, her parents divorced, and Lily’s mother lived with a comedian Harry Enfield. Lily affirmed that she was brought up in not rich family. However, she was successful in attending some of the most expensive private schools in Great Britain, including alma mater of Prince Charles, Hill House School and also Millfield and Bedales School. In the whole, Lily changed nearly 13 schools because of constant movings of her family from one city to another. Several schools expelled her for smoking and drinking alcohol.
When she was 15 she abandoned school and decided to concentrate on music. The first important event for her career was the acquaintance with George Lam in 2001 on Ibiza. He introduced her to producer of Future Cut, with whom she recorded her first songs. At the age of 17 she signed to Warner Music (thanks to her father). But she has not only the memorable manner of wearing clothes but also an outstanding talent. So, in 2005 she signed to Regal Record, the subsidiary of Parlophone/EMI. Turned down the offers of the bosses of the label and she refused to release her first album on the label. Lily offered another mode: she published her first tracks (these were the tracks that were the grounds for signing to the label) on her personal page of a famous web portal “My Space”. So, Lily’s fame began to grow, she became known among famous musical sites, crucial English magazines and BBC Radio One. At that time she also performed at a famous London club Notting Hill Arts Club each Thursday. Thanks to her original way of the publication of the songs, Lily Allen became famous over Europe. The first song, a debut single “Smile” that Lily had written with Future Cup topped the European hit parades in a flash. The album “Alright, Still…” was released in July in 2006. The critics treated the album with favor, especially they specified Lily’s versatile tastes in music and effervescent lyrics. The concerts Lily gave after the release of the record were also as brilliant as her lyrics. The concert program included rousing cover version of the song “Oh My God” by Kaiser Chiefs and explicit parody of the song “Window Shopper” by 50 Cent under the title “Nan, You’re the Window Shopper”. The next album “It’s Not Me, It’s You” was to release in summer 2008, but due to the fault of the label, the record was released just on February 9, 2009. The hit single “Not Fair” and the album itself got into the list of the top English charts. Lily planned to start her own sound recording company. Not long ago Lily made a statement about her intention to leave her musical career and not to release new albums any more. Despite this, the singer’s representative assured the fans that they will hear new Lily’s works in the nearest future.
