Marilyn Manson is one of the most scandal bands of the previous century. Its frontman Brian Hugh Warner (born on January 5, 1969) afterwards became known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He was born and brought up by an ordinary American family which attended the church each Sunday morning. Not being of angelic nature Brian denied Christianity. After graduating from school in Ohio, at the age of 18, he moved for Florida where he worked as a journalist and a musical critic, dabbling into writing poems.
At one of local rock clubs Warner met Jeordie White and offered him to create their own band. At first Brian decided to change his real name. His stage name was formed from the first name of a popular American film star Marilyn Monroe and the last name of a psycho killer Charles Manson. Marilyn Manson was so moved by the idea of combining good and evil, that all the following members of the band created pseudonyms from a female first name and male last name. Thus, bassist Jeordie White became Twiggy Ramirez (a fashion icon Twiggy and a serial killer Richard Ramirez), keyboardist Pogo became Madonna Wayne Gacy (a singer and a serial killer). The first step of Manson and Ramirez in the world of music was their work in death-metal bands Satan on Fire and Mrs. Scabiree. Later in 1989 Brian detached himself and together with Scott Mitchell Putesky (stage name - Daizy Berkowitz) created the band. Brian was singing, Berkowitz was playing the guitar, Olivia Newton Bundy was responsible for bass, Zsa Zsa Speck for keyboards and drum car – for the drums. That time the band went under the name “Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids”. While creative self-defining, Madonna Wayne Gacy replaced Zsa Zsa, Gidget Gein replaced Bundy and drum car was replaced by Sara Lee Lucas. Beffore renaming in “Marilyn Manson” in 1993 the band gained popularity by releasing demos and singles. With their debut album, people began speaking about the emergency of Antichrist, who American values. The record “Holy Wood” made the band scandally famous. The Europeans were shocked by the the album’s cover where Marilyn Manson was drawn crucified as Jesus. The image and the music style of the band changed from one album to another. Marilyn Manson’s music had the elements of industrial, glam rock, gothic rock and even new metal.
